The Minister from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, as the Chairman and keynote speaker at the Blockchain to Government Conference, along with a special address on the topic ‘The Growth Engine of Thailand.’
Mr. Prasert Jantarawongthong, Minister of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DEPA), presided over the international conference titled Blockchain to Government Conference (B2GC): Where Government Meets with Blockchain’s World Leaders. The event was organized by the Ministry of DEPA in collaboration with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA), FinStable Holding Company Limited, and a network of partners. The special address focused on ‘The Growth Engine of Thailand,’ featuring Mr. Sopon Suwannarat, Governor of Phuket Province, executives from the Ministry of DEPA, and affiliated agencies, along with executives and representatives from public and private sector organizations from various countries.
Mr. Prasert mentioned that the Ministry of DEPA’s digital economy and society policies, under the theme ‘The Growth Engine of Thailand,’ consist of three key engines: 1. Enhancing digital capabilities to boost Thailand’s competitiveness, 2. Ensuring the safety and security of the digital economy and society, and 3. Increasing the digital human capital potential of the country. These policies aim to drive efficiency and effectiveness, emphasizing the importance of a robust digital infrastructure. Blockchain technology is considered a crucial component of this infrastructure, contributing to building trust, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring transparency in the operations of both public and private sector organizations. Currently, numerous organizations in Thailand prioritize the application of blockchain technology to elevate production and service processes, gaining a competitive advantage. Therefore, blockchain is likened to a new wave in the country’s digital infrastructure.
The Blockchain to Government Conference (B2GC): Where Government Meets with Blockchain’s World Leaders is scheduled for three days from January 17 to 19 at the Blockchain Technology Center (BTC) in Phuket. The conference will focus on the role of blockchain technology in elevating public sector services related to identity verification, finance, education, healthcare, voting rights, and other areas that require government trust. This will serve as a guide for public sector agencies to study, develop, and implement blockchain technology in the future. Distinguished speakers and qualified individuals from both national and international backgrounds will exchange knowledge and ideas during the conference, including:
- Professor Thongleng Chantragun, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Legislative Drafting Committee.
- Mr. Wichai Thongtang, Advisor to the Board of Directors, Piyavate Hospital Group, and Paolo Hospital Group.
